Photograph of Jonathan Story as a younger man

Jonathan Story is Professor of International Political Economy at INSEAD and the Shell Fellow in Economic Transformation.

Over the past years he has served as a consultant to governments and international corporations, banks and service companies, on European and world politics and markets. Prior to joining INSEAD, he worked in Brussels and Washington, where he obtained his PhD from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

His latest book is China: The Race to Market (Pearsons, 2003).

His book, The Frontiers of Fortune, (Pitman’s, 1999), is about corporate strategy in the world economy.

Other books include: The Political Economy of Financial Integration in Europe : The Battle of the Systems,(MIT Press, 1998) on monetary union and financial markets in the EU, and co-authored with Ingo Walter of NYU.

Professor Story regularly updates a country potential and risk case series on emerging markets, and his software application is available on the web at: storycpra.com

Some of his cases on EU public policy appear in Olivier Cadot’s edited volume, Industrial and Trade Policy Cases, Prentice Hall,1996. He writes regular analyses for the international press on international political and economic developments.
